Charities Are the Real
Winners as NFL Stars
Spin the Wheel of Fortune
CULVER CITY, Calif., Jan. 2 - Fifteen of the top NFL players
will be part of America's favorite game show when they appear on the
eighth
Wheel of Fortune "NFL Players Week," announced Wheel of Fortune and
PLAYERS INC today. The shows were taped November 4, 2003 at Sony
Pictures Studios in Culver City, California and will air the week of
January 5-9, 2004.
Hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White will cheer on Jerome Bettis
(Pittsburgh
Steelers), Dan Fouts (Hall of Fame/San Diego Chargers), Joey
Galloway (Dallas Cowboys), Charlie Garner (Oakland Raiders), Eddie
George (Tennessee Titans), Trent Green (Kansas City Chiefs), Dan
Hampton (Hall of Fame/Chicago Bears), Matt Hasselbeck (Seattle
Seahawks), Kris Jenkins (Carolina Panthers), Keyshawn Johnson (Tampa
Bay Buccaneers), Deuce McAllister (New Orleans Saints), Brian
Mitchell (New York Giants), Joe Theismann (Retired Player/Washington
Redskins), James Thrash (Philadelphia Eagles) and Moe Williams
(Minnesota Vikings)as they spin the Wheel for their favorite
charities.
"NFL Players are not only leaders on-the-field but off-the-field as
well,"
says Pat Allen, executive vice president and chief operating officer
of
PLAYERS INC, the licensing and marketing subsidiary of the NFL
Players
Association. "Wheel of Fortune 'NFL Players Week' affords the
players the
unique opportunity to give back to their communities while
connecting with
their fans. Over the last eight years, this partnership has raised
nearly two
million dollars for NFL player charities. This year alone, our
players raised
close to $300,000."
Each player will partner with a fan from his team's city. Three
different
player/contestant teams will be featured each night Monday, January
5 through
Friday, January 9. The contestant from the team with the highest
cash/prize
total will be the envy of football fans everywhere as they will win
the Grand
Prize: a spectacular five-day/four-night trip to Super Bowl XXXVIII
in
Houston.
This Grand Prize, courtesy of PLAYERS INC, includes VIP passes for
two to
mingle with hundreds of NFL players at the PLAYERS INC VIP Party,
NFL Players Party and NFL Player Mania, along with two tickets to
the game. The winner will also receive thousands of dollars worth of
player-autographed memorabilia and a Reebok Home Gym, which includes
a treadmill, elliptical trainer, heart rate monitors, yoga ball,
training videos and more.
Beginning Monday, December 29th, fans can start gearing up for NFL
Players

http://www.nflplayers.com. Beginning January 5 through January 9,
users can enter an online sweepstakes for a chance to win one of
many prizes including a Grand Prize trip to the 2004 Pro Bowl in
Hawaii. This Grand Prize Package includes a three-day/two-night trip
