Restoration of Cleveland's Terminal Tower remains on track. Crews are slowly working their way down from the top of the 52-story structure, removing the scaffolds that obscured the top eight floors.This project has taken a long time , over 4 years. In addition the building elevator systems are being replaced to speed up the ability to go to the top of the 42 floor structure, once the 3rrd tallest building in the world. New LED lighting has replaced old spotlights and sections of terra cotta and limestone have been replaced and preserved. The tower is 81-years-old. The owner of the project expects the project to be completed in 2010

The Cavaliers win big in Game 3 trail Boston 2 to 1 in the best of 7 series. West and Z all played great with Ben Wallace helping out on defense, even with an inner ear infection.
The Cavs fans filled Quicken Loans Arena and help cheer Cleveland to a victory. Cleveland and Boston play again on Monday May 12th in Cleveland at Quicken Loans Arena.

The World's Best and Northern Ohio's largest amusement park opens the doors on its 2008 season on Saturday. Cedar Point is hoping for a good season, and hopes despite high gas prices, people in the Great Lakes will stay close to home for their entertainment and visit the Sandusky-based park. The 2008 Cedar Point season features a new children's play area named "Planet Snoopy." The amusement park's season runs daily through Labor Day, then on weekends through early November.
Free Wireless Hot Spots in Cleveland University Circle

Free wireless Internet system around Cleveland's University Circle is up and running. OneCommunity and Case Western Reserve University launched the network Thursday. More than 100 access points connect 800 public and non-profit institutions in a five-square mile area cover the circle, parts of Cleveland Heights and East Cleveland. The Wi-Fi system was announced in 2006, but completion was delayed by more than a year by regulatory hurdles. This is great news for Cleveland residence but for business in the University Circle area of Cleveland.

Construction is underway on a big expansion at Hillcrest Hospital. Cleveland Clinic officials broke ground Thursday for a 163-million-dollar makeover of the Mayfield Heights health-care facility. The project calls for larger operating and emergency rooms, a level-three neonatal unit and a chest pain and stroke center. The hospital expansion is set to open in 2010.
Devo Mark Mothersbaugh get Honorary Degree from Kent State

Mark Mothersbaugh is known internationally as part of the experimental rock group "Devo." The Cuyahoga Falls native will be honored Saturday with a college degree. Mothersbaugh attended Kent State University, but left in 1973 just a quarter shy of earning a degree. Kent State will present an honorary degree to him Saturday at spring commencement. Mothersbaugh is now 57-years-old. Devo has won Emmy Awards for composing movie, television and other musical soundtracks.

Ernst and Young, one of Cleveland's largest employers will stay in the city of Cleveland, but move to a new location. Accounting giant Ernst and Young has signed off on a new high-rise office tower on the east bank of the Flats. It's part of developer Scott Wolstein's 522-million-dollar office, retail and residential complex along the Cuyahoga River. Law firm Tucker Ellis and West will share the 21 story office tower with Ernst and Young when it opens in 2011.
New Downtown Akron Middle School at Inventors Hall of Fame

Akron Ohio groundbreaking is scheduled today for a new middle school in downtown Akron. The National Inventors Hall of Fame School will be attached to the inventors hall and specialize in math, science and technology education. The museum at the hall of fame will be closed during construction, but is expected to reopen next year.
Cuyahoga County Audit of March Election is Successful

Cuyahoga County's vote count from the March primary matches up. Elections officials say a hand-count of paper ballots match the results from optical scanners on election night. The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections performed the voluntary audit as part of a statewide test of optical scanners' consistency and performance. The county was ordered to switch to paper ballots from touch-screen voting by Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.

Changes in the zoning of Cleveland police officers take effect today. The previous six-district system has been redrawn to five larger zones, with officers redeployed from more stable neighborhoods to other trouble spots. Mayor Frank Jackson says it'll get more officers on the street. Cleveland police union officials and residents of higher-crime neighborhoods say it will increase response times and put too many one-officer patrols in harm's way.
